Watch out Cruciferae!

Well the Big Butterfly Watch wasn't very spectacular in our wildlife garden. I usually spot a fair number of peacock, admiral etc but no this year just 2 cabbage whites. Have been concerned at the lack of butterflies throughout Spring and Summer this year at this site. One of our buddleia bit the dust and the other hasn't flowered much. We do have loads of nectar rich flowers though, that appear right through the seasons ...so what is going wrong? Was it the hard Winter?
