Tulips Not From Amsterdam Bulbs

We harvested lots of new tulip bulbs last year and have replanted in pots and at the allotment ...here's hoping they do the business and make our front flower border at the lotty even more stunning than last years... they may have originated from Amsterdam ...not sure ??!!

RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch

Completed the bird watch with bar of choccie and cuppa tea to hand....saw 2 blackbirds, 2 robins, 2 dunnocks, 2 bluetits and 4 wood pigeons......the robin dominated our bird feeders and chased everything else off fiercely! The two robins have neighbouring territories in our garden.

After a late night out we were up at 8.30am filling the skip with garden rubbish and junk ....then went to prune stuff at the allotment. Mental!

Pruned the fruit trees today , Hope we did a good job.......at least the branches won't touch the floor if they become laden with fruit this year ...ummmmmm!

Rain on my Parade

Beween the afternoon of Thurs 19th Jan and Saturday morning 21st Jan 2012 ...we had 1nch/ 25ml of rain .......and lots of wind....very annoying it kept me awake.

Happy New Year

Very mild Winter so far, although frost on the ground today. Was woken yesterday by a tawny owl moving across the trees over the back from us. I captured it on my phone (sound not vid) so hope to download to the blog soon. It's been ages since my last post. Have been mad busy at the allotment, work and sadly my SLR died and had to be sent for repair to Cannon. Bit of a blow, but back in action again. Heading out to a local RSPB reserve today..... sunny and icy should be good ... in the meantime Robin in the hazel wishes everyone a happy new year.
